Let's get your site started

Ten minutes now, and we take it from here. Fill in the first part today; the accounts in the second part are only needed as we get to them, and we walk you through each one.

Step 1 · Do this now

Tell us about your place

Only the first three parts are required. Everything else is optional and we can pull most of it from your listing.

Your plan

Pick the one from your quote. You can change your mind before we go live.

Add-ons (optional)
You
We'll use this same email for the accounts below, so you have one login to remember.
Your place

Your listing link is the one thing we can't do without. Photos, description, amenities and reviews all start there.

More than one property? List them here and we'll sort it out.
Already own a domain? Put it here and tell us where it's registered (GoDaddy, Google, Namecheap...). We register new ones in your name, about $12 a year on your card.
Rates, fees and rules optional, 3 minutes, or we'll ask later

Whatever you know now. Blanks are fine; we pull the rest from your listing and confirm with you before anything goes live.

Not sure is fine. We look it up by your address and you confirm.
What you already have optional, 1 minute
Accounts you already use
Anything else

Special requests, a feature you've seen on another site, things that drive you crazy about your current setup. This is the box for it.

Nothing is charged here. We reply within a day with what we found and what's next.
Step 2 · When we ask, not today

The accounts your site runs on

They're all in your name, so the site, the domain and the money stay yours. You add lanternhousedigital@gmail.com to each one so we can do the setup for you. Pick your plan above and this list trims itself to what you'll actually need.

Your Airbnb and Vrbo calendars

Before go-live

So a booking anywhere blocks the dates everywhere. Each listing has a private calendar link only you can see; we need that link, never your login.

  1. Airbnb: open the app or airbnb.com → Calendar → pick the listing → Availability (the settings icon) → Connect calendars or Sync calendars → Export calendar → copy the link. It ends in .ics.
  2. Vrbo: owner dashboard → Calendar → Import / Export → Export calendar → copy the link.
  3. The wording moves around. If you can't find it, a screenshot of your Calendar screen is enough and we'll point to it.
Send us: one link per listing, by text or email. At go-live we send you our link to paste back in (Import calendar), so Airbnb and Vrbo block your direct bookings too.

Your domain, at Cloudflare

Before go-live

Cloudflare is where your domain name lives and where the site's address records are. It's free, and it's in your name.

  1. Go to dash.cloudflare.com/sign-up and create an account with the email you gave us above.
  2. Once you're in, click your account name at the top left, then Manage Account → Members → Invite.
  3. Type lanternhousedigital@gmail.com, leave the scope on All domains, switch on the Administrator role only, click Create policy, then Invite members.
  4. That's it. We register the domain there in your name (or move the one you have) on a short call, with you watching.
Already have a domain at GoDaddy? You can keep it there: GoDaddy → your name at the top right → Delegate Access → Invite to access → our email, with Products, Domains and DNS access. We handle the rest.

Stripe, for card payments

Before go-live

Guests pay on your site by card and the money goes straight to your bank. Stripe is in your name; we never touch your money. We set up the payment page, deposits and balance invoices for you.

  1. Go to stripe.com and click Start now. Use the same email. For the business details, your own name and home address are fine for a rental; Stripe asks for your bank account and the last four of your Social Security number to pay you out.
  2. Once you're in: the gear icon (Settings) at the top right → Team and security → Team members → + New member.
  3. Email lanternhousedigital@gmail.com, role Administrator, then Send invite. Administrator lets us build your payment page and invoices; it never lets us move money to anywhere but your bank.
Already take cards with Square? Keep it. Tick Square in the form above and we build on that instead. Not sure which? Stripe, unless you already use Square in person.

Resend, for guest emails from your own address

Only with the Owner Dashboard

With the dashboard, six emails go to every direct guest on their own: confirmation, getting ready, check-in details with the door code, checkout, thank-you. They come from stay@yourdomain, which is why they land in inboxes instead of spam. Resend sends them; it's free for a single rental.

  1. Go to resend.com and sign up with the same email.
  2. Settings → Team → Invite → lanternhousedigital@gmail.com, role Admin.
  3. Done. We connect your domain from there (Resend talks to your Cloudflare; nothing for you to paste).
Send us: nothing. You'll read all six emails on your dashboard and switch them on yourself when the wording is right.

Google Business Profile

Only with Google setup

So your place shows up on Google Maps and in search, with your site as the link. If you don't have one, we create it with you; Google mails a postcard to the house to verify it.

  1. Go to business.google.com and sign in with the Google account that owns the profile.
  2. Open the profile → the three-dot menu → Business Profile settings → People and access → Add.
  3. Email lanternhousedigital@gmail.com, role Manager, then Invite.

Words and pictures for the guidebook, song and tour

Only with those add-ons

No accounts, just a few things only you know.

  1. Guidebook: WiFi name and password, check-in and checkout times, how guests get in, house quirks (the thermostat, the trash day), and five to ten local favorites: groceries, restaurants, the beach access, urgent care.
  2. Song: three words that describe the place, and any style you love or hate. We write it; you approve it.
  3. Drone-style tour: your best ten photos at full size, wide shots first. A Google Drive or Dropbox link, or text them.
Send us: an email or a text when we ask. A voice memo is fine; we type it up.

Netlify, where the site is hosted

Only with You Take the Keys

If you take the keys, the finished site moves into a hosting account in your name at handoff, so it's yours outright. Nothing to do now; at handoff we create it with you in ten minutes and walk you through the one screen that matters.

Step 3 · Our side

What happens next

Rather do it together?

Book fifteen minutes and we'll go through this page on a screen share. Most people are done with the accounts before the call ends.
